App Store Optimization Service: The Whole Listing, Working Together

An app store page is a system, not a form. The keywords decide who sees you, the creative decides whether they stop, the rating decides whether they trust you, and the tracking tells you which of those three is failing. ASO is the work of getting all four to pull in the same direction.

This is our full programme: research, metadata, creative direction, review management and measurement, run as one engagement rather than four disconnected tasks.

Why ASO is the cheapest acquisition channel you already own

Every install that arrives from search is one you did not pay a network for. That is why ASO sits underneath everything else: paid traffic converts better against a well-built listing, retention is stronger when the page's promise matches the product, and brand searches grow as visibility grows.

The trap is treating the pieces separately. A team rewrites the title and wonders why installs have not moved, when the blockage is a three-star average displayed next to it. Another buys reviews and watches the ranking stay flat, because the metadata never matched the searches it wanted. The parts interact, and a programme is what makes them interact in your favour.

Both stores also change their surfaces regularly, and assets that were competitive last year often are not now. An ASO programme is a loop, not a one-off rewrite: measure, change the weakest element, measure again.

What we deliver

1. Keyword research and metadata architecture

We map the phrases that carry real intent in your category across the storefronts you sell in, then decide which ones belong where. On iOS that means the title, subtitle, keyword field and promotional text; on Google Play, the title, short description and full description. Localisation is handled per market rather than translated from one master file, and every field reads naturally while still carrying the phrases that matter.

2. Icon, screenshots and preview direction

The creative is where the tap happens. We review your icon and first three screenshots at thumbnail size — the size a shopper actually encounters them — and give you a direction: what the first frame must communicate, what each following frame should carry, whether captions are legible at a glance, and what the icon must do to survive a results list. You get the brief and the reasoning; production is yours, or we coordinate it with your designer.

3. Ratings and review management

We manage the reputation layer of the listing: the score your page displays, the freshness of the visible review feed, and the reviews that need a developer response. Where the score needs movement we run ratings and reviews activity, and where a defined review volume is required we scope it through the guaranteed reviews service. The point is not volume for its own sake — it is that the number beside your icon stops costing you taps.

4. Ranking campaigns for the keywords that carry the business

Metadata gets you eligible; activity gets you visible. For the phrases that actually drive your category's installs we can run position-targeted work through our keyword ranking service, or volume-based work through keyword installs and package installs when the listing needs download velocity as well as relevance.

5. Measurement and iteration

We track positions for your keyword set, store page conversion where the stores expose it, your rating trend and your visible review mix. Each cycle we change the single weakest element first, so you can attribute a result to a specific edit rather than a batch of simultaneous changes nobody can untangle.

How it works

  1. Audit. We review your listing on both stores as a shopper would: search visibility, metadata, creative, rating, review feed and category position. You get a written assessment of which element is costing you the most.
  2. Plan. We agree the keyword set, the storefronts, the fields and assets to be changed, the order of work and how success will be measured. If only one part of the listing is broken, the plan says so rather than selling the full programme.
  3. Implement. Metadata is rewritten and delivered ready to publish. Creative direction is written as a brief. Rating, review and ranking activity is scoped and scheduled. You approve each piece before it goes live.
  4. Measure and iterate. We compare positions, conversion and rating against the audit baseline, report on what moved and what did not, and set the next change. The cycle repeats on the cadence agreed in the plan.

Who this is for

We have worked on iOS and Google Play optimisation for more than a decade, across games, utilities, finance, health and marketplace apps, and we bring that pattern recognition to the audit rather than a blank template.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to buy the whole programme?

No. The audit is the useful starting point for most teams, and it often shows that one or two elements are doing the damage while the rest of the listing is fine. We will scope the work to what the audit justifies, and tell you plainly if the fix is something you can do in-house.

How is ASO different from what I get from an install vendor?

An install vendor sells activity. ASO changes the listing itself, so the improvement keeps working after the campaign window closes. The two are complementary: metadata and creative decide whether you are eligible and whether you convert, while activity accelerates the behavioural signal toward your target keywords.

Do you write the metadata or do I?

We write it and hand it over ready to publish, field by field, within the character limits of each store and locale. You keep final approval, and we will flag any phrase your product cannot honestly support, because a listing that overpromises produces refunds and bad reviews rather than growth.

How do you measure whether it worked?

Against the audit baseline: positions for the agreed keyword set per storefront, store page conversion where the store exposes impression and install figures, rating trend, and the content of new reviews. Where a store does not expose a metric, we say that instead of estimating a number.

Start with an audit of your listing

Send us your app links and the storefronts you sell in. We will look at your page the way a shopper does and tell you which element costs you the most installs — before you buy anything.
