What an AsoRank engagement actually delivers

AsoRank is an app store optimisation and app promotion service for the Apple App Store and Google Play. This page sets out the work included in an engagement, what each part is intended to change, and how it is reported back to you.

What's included in every engagement

Whatever tier you buy, the following is part of the engagement. These are the items that make the difference between a campaign that can be reviewed and one that cannot.

Keyword research and a written strategy

We map your category, review the apps already holding the positions you want, and build a keyword set scored by search volume, difficulty and intent. The set is agreed with you in writing before delivery starts, so both sides are measuring the same thing.

Listing and metadata work

Store search reads the title, subtitle, keyword field, description and creative assets. We review all of them against the keyword set and recommend changes that can be shipped in your next store update, rather than leaving the on-page side of ASO untouched.

Delivery against an agreed scope

Keyword installs and package installs are delivered against the keyword set, storefronts and period stated in the quote. Volume, geography and timing are recorded so the delivery can be checked against the order rather than taken on trust.

Ranking and download reporting

You receive position tracking for each agreed keyword in each agreed storefront, alongside the delivery records for the period. Reports include a written read-out of what moved, what did not, and what we intend to adjust — not just a table of numbers.

A named point of contact

One person handles your account and knows the history of it. Questions, scope changes and reporting all go through the same channel, so context is not lost between handoffs.

Compliance review before launch

Before an order goes live we check it against store policy and our own delivery rules. If a request would put your listing or developer account at risk, we will decline that part of the order and explain why.

Keyword research and ranking

Ranking work starts with deciding which terms are worth competing for. Choosing badly is the most common reason an app promotion budget produces no visible change.

We begin by mapping the category: which apps occupy the top positions, which keywords they appear to be optimised for, and where the gaps are. From there we build a candidate set and score it. Terms that look attractive in a spreadsheet often turn out to be dominated by apps with far larger install bases, or to be searched by users who are not looking for what you sell.

Category and competitor mapping

Competitor listings are read the way the store reads them: title structure, keyword density in the description, screenshot messaging, rating profile. This tells us how defensible each position currently is and what it would take to displace the apps holding it.

Volume, difficulty and intent

Each candidate keyword is scored on estimated search volume, competitive difficulty and the likelihood that a user searching it will install something like your app. A term with modest volume and clear intent usually outperforms a broad head term, and it costs less to move.

Localisation-aware mapping

Keywords do not translate. The phrase a user types in one market is often not the literal translation of the phrase that works in another, and search volume differs sharply between storefronts. We map each market separately instead of pushing one list everywhere.

Creative and metadata optimisation

Store search decides whether your app is seen. The listing decides whether it is installed. Both sides are part of the work.

Icon and screenshot direction

We review the icon and screenshot sequence against category conventions and against what your strongest competitors present, then give direction on hierarchy, first-screen messaging and the order in which benefits are shown. The design work itself can stay with your team or be handled by us.

Title, subtitle and description

Title and subtitle carry the most search weight and the most conversion weight at the same time. We rewrite them to hold the primary keyword naturally while still reading like a product statement rather than a keyword list, then align the description with what the screenshots promise.

What we will not do to your listing

We do not write claims the app cannot support, we do not imply awards or rankings that were never granted, and we do not stuff keywords to the point where the copy stops making sense to a reader. Those tactics are visible to reviewers and to users, and both cost more than they return.

Ratings and reviews management

Rating average and review recency both influence store ranking and both influence the install decision. Neither responds to a one-off push.

Prompting reviews inside the product

We advise on where an in-app review prompt belongs in the user journey, so it fires after a moment of success rather than on first launch. Timing is the difference between a prompt that collects honest feedback and one that collects one-star reviews.

Responding and monitoring

We help set up a response routine for negative reviews and a monitoring habit for recurring complaints. Public responses are read by prospective users as much as by the reviewer, and a consistent, non-defensive reply pattern measurably changes how a listing is perceived.

What we do not sell

We do not supply purchased or incentivised reviews, and we do not offer review manipulation of any kind. Store policy prohibits it, detection is effective, and a listing that loses its ratings history is far worse off than one that never had the extra stars.

Reporting and transparency

A report should let you check the work, not just admire it. Every reporting cycle covers the same four things.

  • Position by keyword and storefront. Each keyword in the agreed set, tracked in each agreed market, with the movement since the previous report.
  • Delivery records. What was delivered in the period, against what the scope said would be delivered.
  • Listing changes. Every metadata and creative change we recommended, its status, and the release it went out in.
  • A written read-out. What appears to have worked, what has not moved yet, and what we plan to change next period. Where a result is ambiguous we say so rather than claiming a win.

Reports are delivered in a format you can forward internally without editing, and the underlying records are available on request if someone on your side needs to audit them.

Compliance and channel quality

How delivery is sourced matters for your developer account, not just for your ranking. This is the part of the service most worth asking questions about, of us or of any other provider.

Delivery is sourced from real devices and real users in the markets you have bought. We do not use emulators, device farms, automated install scripts or traffic that a store would classify as invalid. Installs are attributed to the agreed keyword and storefront, and the period in which they were delivered is recorded.

We also check retention rather than counting installs alone. An install that is deleted within minutes moves a ranking briefly and then collapses it, which is worse than not buying it. Where a delivery does not hold up against our quality checks, we replace it rather than invoice it.

On guarantees

We do not promise a specific rank position, a fixed install number beyond the scope you ordered, or a permanent result. Store ranking algorithms are controlled by Apple and Google, they change without notice, and no provider outside those companies can honestly guarantee an outcome against them. What we can commit to is the delivery in the scope, the reporting standard described above, and telling you plainly when a target is unrealistic.

If a store changes its ranking behaviour or its policy in a way that affects live work, we review the affected orders, tell you what changed, and adjust the plan instead of continuing to bill for delivery that no longer serves the goal.

Tell us what you are promoting

Send the app, the store links and the keywords you care about. We will come back with a scope, a written quote and a realistic view of what is achievable in your category.
